Teaching Artifacts
Over the years at West Chester University, I have done numerous evaluations of children through observations and assessments. Below are files, pictures, and descriptions of things I have done to assess these students, a pointing guide for students' desks, and two papers written at West Chester University .
In addition to my work at West Chester, below is a picture of documentation implemented into Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG). This is the assessment tool I use in my full-time job teaching preschool.

The first three items below are pictures of Humanics National Assessment Forms which check for social-emotional, language, cognitive, motor skills, and hygiene/self-help developments. These forms are a check-off system to see what developments the child has or has not mastered. The first assessment is the cognitive assessment for birth to age three year olds. The second is an assessment of a child's hygiene/self-help for ages three to six years old. The last assessment is for social emotional growth of children ages six to nine.
The items below are part of a rating scale for an infant/toddler environment (ITERS for short). This was done during my infant/toddler field experience at West Chester University. The rating scale is done to see that the environment is safe enough for these young children. The first picture is an example of a rating page for personal care. The second picture is the final rating of all of the categories from the ITERS.
The link below is a chart that I made for a student during my student teaching. This student was suspected of having Attention Deficit Disorder which made it harder for him to stay on task. Instead of continually asking them to pay attention which could disrupt instruction, I put this chart on their desk. When walking around the room giving a lesson, I could point at the picture and the student would then do what it says and refocus on the lesson.

The link below is research that I did as a journal during my student teaching about a student from Africa in my classroom who was having trouble with speaking and reading skills. My research was about the African culture and bilingual children. After analyzing research from these scholarly sources, I have come to the conclusion that the student could become a better speaker with a review of decoding, having extra practice at home, and by listening to his fellow students.

The link below is of a paper on political correctness which was done in my democracy in education course at West Chester University during my sophomore year. This paper allowed me to express my feelings about how political correctness should not be used all of the time. For example, through the years of my schooling I have found that we have to lessen the amount of teaching of the holidays (in some schools more than others). I believe that by not allowing students to learn about different holidays from different cultures cuts off some of the learning they would be receiving.
